Instructions to Build a Spinning Button

Introduction

A spinning button is nothing more than a large shirt or coat button threaded onto a loop of woollen thread. With the button's inertia and the wool's springiness the loop can be repeatedly stretched and relaxed so that the button spins back and forth as the loop winds and unwinds. This is very simple to make - it requires about 5 minutes. Young kids will like it because it requires a little practice to do the stretching in time with the button's rotation.
